Larimar
Description: Larimar, also known as the Dolphin Stone or Atlantis Stone, is a rare blue variety of the mineral pectolite. Found only in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean, its coloration varies from white, light-blue, green-blue to deep blue, mirroring the tropical seas. Its unique volcanic origin, being formed in basaltic lava, adds to its mystique. Larimar's soft, soothing colors and patterns are reminiscent of sunlight dancing beneath the Caribbean waters.
Fun Fact: Larimar is believed to embody the tranquil energies of the sea and sky. Interestingly, it was rediscovered in 1974 by a Peace Corps volunteer, though the local people had known of the stone for generations, often finding pieces washed down to the sea. Larimar's exclusivity to the Dominican Republic adds to its allure and desirability as a gemstone in jewelry, making it a symbol of the Caribbean's beauty and mystery.

MATERIALS
Barse Jewelry has made jewelry since 1986 and is based in Dallas, Texas. Barse states that every stone it uses is genuine. Its cast pieces are made by lost-wax casting in its own factory in Thailand, most of them in Barse's golden bronze, an alloy of copper and a small amount of tin that is solid throughout; some pieces are sterling silver or brass. Its beaded pieces are designed in Dallas and handcrafted in Thailand. The description of each piece names its metal, its stones and any treatment the maker states.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Golden bronze: avoid water while wearing it, and keep it in an airtight bag or a jewelry box. Barse applies a protective coating, and over time the bronze may develop a rich patina. To bring back its shine, use a jewelry polishing cloth, or mild detergent with water and a brush. Sterling silver: store it dry and apart from other pieces, and polish it with a cloth made for silver. Genuine stones: keep them away from perfume, lotion and harsh cleaners, and store each piece on its own.
