Malachite

Description: Malachite is a vibrant green mineral composed of copper carbonate hydroxide, known for its striking banded patterns and vivid coloration. It has been used for centuries in jewelry, ornaments, and pigments due to its unique aesthetic appeal. In addition to its decorative uses, malachite is often associated with protection and transformation.

Fun Fact: Malachite was used by ancient Egyptians as a protective talisman and even ground into powder for vibrant green eyeshadow. Its swirling, natural patterns can resemble tiny landscapes, giving each piece a unique look. Interestingly, malachite was once thought to warn its wearer of danger by breaking into pieces when peril approached.

Natural variances are part of the beauty of our genuine stones. Your piece will vary slightly from the image shown.

FURPPL RESCUE FUND

Every FURPPL order donates meals to dogs in rescue through the FURPPL Rescue Fund. Each item donates meals in proportion to what FURPPL earns on it, and never fewer than one; you will see the exact count beside the price.

MATERIALS

Barse Jewelry has made jewelry since 1986 and is based in Dallas, Texas. Barse states that every stone it uses is genuine. Its cast pieces are made by lost-wax casting in its own factory in Thailand, most of them in Barse's golden bronze, an alloy of copper and a small amount of tin that is solid throughout; some pieces are sterling silver or brass. Its beaded pieces are designed in Dallas and handcrafted in Thailand. The description of each piece names its metal, its stones and any treatment the maker states.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Golden bronze: avoid water while wearing it, and keep it in an airtight bag or a jewelry box. Barse applies a protective coating, and over time the bronze may develop a rich patina. To bring back its shine, use a jewelry polishing cloth, or mild detergent with water and a brush. Sterling silver: store it dry and apart from other pieces, and polish it with a cloth made for silver. Genuine stones: keep them away from perfume, lotion and harsh cleaners, and store each piece on its own.
